Seniors having coffee out on the town

About Us

At TenderCare Adult Home of Oakland Township, our mission is to nurture the mind, body, and spirit through compassionate, loving, and personalized care. We strive to improve the quality of life of our residents by way of wholesome dietary choices, a stimulating community lifestyle, and rejuvenating physical activities, when possible. Simply put, we are passionate about helping seniors live their best life, so instead of just getting by, they can truly thrive.

Our Story

After receiving my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, I began my career working in a Cardiac Care Unit within The University of Chicago’s Hospital System. During this time, I gained invaluable experience working with prominent medical professionals, in addition to critical skills that have remained with me to this day.

Though I had several chances to transition into management roles, I could never bring myself to surrender what I loved most about working in medicine. The fulfillment I receive from working directly with patients and providing one-on-one care is why I chose to do what I do.

Eventually, after supporting three of my elderly family members with round-the-clock hospice care, I knew I had found my calling, and a seed was planted. Today, that seed has sprouted and blossomed into what is the culmination of my life’s work. Let me introduce you to TenderCare Adult Home.

Your New Home

TenderCare Adult Home is located on Orion Road, just off of Adams Road in Oakland Township. Peering out over Paint Creek Trail and its nearby rushing waters on one side, and deep, rolling woods on the other, we are truly nestled in an oasis of natural beauty.

Inside, we have all the welcoming comforts of a luxury home, including fully-furnished rooms with wall-mounted HD televisions, speedy Wi-Fi, multi-functional gathering spaces, hardwood flooring, ceiling fans, and ample closet space.

Peace of mind is important, too, so we’ve equipped our facility with a reliable security system, which includes closed-circuit monitoring of all common areas, smoke detectors in each room, and strategically-located carbon monoxide detectors. On top of that, given the unpredictably of Michigan winters, we have a backup generator to help ensure the uninterrupted comfort and safety of our residents.

My beautiful mom, Irene, was in Hospice Care from January – July 2017. We had the privilege of having Mashal be her nurse. Mashal became a part of our family during this difficult time. Mashal was always kind, caring, and professional. Above all, her compassion was always evident. She encouraged my mom, provided a listening ear, and was always available when I (caregiver) had a question or needed to talk.
We, as a family, wouldn’t have changed anything as my mom transitioned into her next journey. Mashal made it possible by providing the best care and support anyone could ask for. We will always be grateful for her!
