Frequently Asked Questions About Assisted Living

There are so many factors to consider when selecting an adult care home in the Rochester, MI area. Here we provide answers to help you make informed decisions about your loved one’s care.

Q. Do you have a nurse on staff?

A. Even though it is not required or necessary to have a nurse on staff, we are lucky to provide that expertise to our residents, since our facility is owned and managed by an RN/BSN with a wealth of knowledge in nursing care not limited to Memory Care (Alzheimer /Dementia), Geriatric, Cardiac, Hospice, and Palliative care.

**Dedication to assist and maintain the highest level of health and function is one of our core principles.**

Q. Can you Guarantee that my loved one will not fall?

A. We want to reassure you that all allowable and safe measures will be put in place to prevent falls, including more than the required ratio of caregiver to residents. Regretfully, falls are a natural part of the aging process and cannot be totally prevented.

Q. Are there set visiting hours?

A. We encourage family participation in the day-to-day life of your loved ones from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM,  which is a time when most residents will be active and awake. Individualized care plans might suggest variation, which will be considered with family’s input.

Q. Can we continue to keep our own physician or should we switch to your house physician?

A. We are pleased to offer cooperation with your existing doctor and follow their directions or you have the option of switching to our house physician.

**We take pride in offering choice and being flexible.**

Q. Can I bring my furnishings?

A. Absolutely. Each room will have the unique personality of each resident when it is furnished with what they are accustomed to. We also will furnish the room free of charge.

I cannot thank you enough for all you have done for me and my mom. I could not ask for a better person to take care of dad, my husband, and my mom. I’m just hoping you are around to take care of me. Thank you for a great friendship, kindness beyond words, and much support. You have been a great comfort to me in my times of need.
